The tradition of the presenting of a child to God, and to the Church, stems from the desire by parents to ask for divine protection for their newborn, and thanksgiving for a safe childbirth.
For presentations there are no special celebrations at Immaculate Heart. However, you are more than welcomed to join us at our regular scheduled weekend masses for a blessing upon the child being presented. You are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the mass to notify the priest, and after the mass has ended the celebrating priest will give a blessing to the child.
